Mark Sutcliffe is a writer, broadcaster, entrepreneur and volunteer. Mark hosts a daily talk show, Ottawa Today, simulcast on 1310 NEWS and Rogers TV, and appears regularly on Canada’s Parliamentary channel CPAC-TV and Rogers TV. Mark is the founder and CEO of Great River Media Inc., a media company with national and local print, web and event properties and has recently launched a new boutique consulting firm, Sutcliffe+Whalen. He also writes a weekly column for the Ottawa Citizen, where he was previously executive editor.
Mark is an avid runner who has completed 24 marathons and raised more than $180,000 for charity. He is the author Long Road to Boston, Why I Run, Canada's Magnificent Marathon, and the children's book Big Joe and the Return of Football.
Mark was a recipient of the 2016 Order of Ottawa—received in recognition of his lifelong interest in the local media and in helping Ottawa flourish as a place of opportunity, diversity and equality.
